THE ARABIAN NIGHTS
by Mary Zimmerman
Mary Zimmerman’s adaptation weaves ancient tales of wonder into a poetic testament to the transformational power of storytelling. King Shahryar marries, loves, then kills a young woman each night – until he encounters Scheherezade. For one thousand and one nights, he delays her murder as he eagerly awaits her next tale of love, lust, hilarity, or sorrow. This adaptation offers a wonderful blend of the lesser-known tales from Arabian Nights with the recurring theme of how the magic of storytelling holds the power to change people. |

BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL
By Keith Farley, Brian Flemming and Laurence O’Keefe
A romp based on a trash supermarket tabloid series, this raucous musical comedy follows a supernatural half boy/half bat creature that is discovered in a cave. But happiness is shattered as the town hears the shocking story of Batboy’s unholy origin. |

More info about Jessie Bonstelle, please. I’m working on writing ‘the stories’ for our family history and I know that my mother, Leone Gosselin, and her sister Cecilia both acted in plays directed by Jessie Bonstelle in the 1930s. What group did she direct for? Was the theater part of Wayne State at that time or later?
Diana,
We only know so much about Jessie, but when she owned the building, WSU did not. She’s known as the “Maker of the Stars” because she ran the theatre back in the day. You can view a little bit more about her here: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=7973815. or even the Wikipedia page for The Bonstelle Theatre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Beth-El_%28Bonstelle_Theatre%29
Hi there
trying to find out if the Bonstelle theatre is ever available for outside groups to perform. And if so, where could one find access to the technical details of the theatre.
Any information would be gratefully received.
cheers
Caroline
