PREMIERE OF CHRIS TYSH’S NIGHT SCALES, A FABLE FOR KLARA K AT THE STUDIO THEATRE
Join The Studio Theatre in welcoming the United States premiere of Chris Tysh’s Night Scales, A Fable for Klara K. Playing April 22 – May 1 at The Studio Theatre, the play will mark the original cast production before the piece’s publication by United Artists, New York this year.
Focused on the European events of World War II, this poetic play tracks its heroine, Klara, as she goes through the war-torn terrain of Eastern Europe, destruction and war at her back. This choral text unleashes a unique voice which encompasses both story and song.
Pulling inspiration for the staging from films like Alain Resnais’ Hiroshima Mon Amour, and the work of artists like Arman, Director Aku Kadogo spins a tale of war-torn Europe that seeks to take the audience through a mine field of memory and fantasy with the help of multimedia projections, film and sound designed by Patrick Field, coordinated by Alexander Henderson Trice.
