Michigan premiere of A Behanding in Spokane, from the writer and director of The Pillowman.
In Martin McDonagh’s first American-set play, Carmichael has been searching for his missing left hand for almost half a century. Enter two bickering lovebirds with a hand to sell, and a hotel clerk with an aversion to gunfire, and the stage is set for an insane, yet fiendishly funny tale of love, hate, desperation and hope, with a few grisly surprises.
Company members Joel Mitchell (BFA Wayne State University/Bonstelle) and Katie Galazka (BFA Wayne State University/Bonstelle) are joined by Dan Jaroslaw (has appeared on the Hilberry Stage) and Breathe Art newcomer Sean Rodriguez in a production directed by Andrew Huff (BFA Wayne State University/Bonstelle. MFA/Wayne State University/Hilberry Theatre). The design team consists of Andrew Huff and company member Sergio Forest. Stage Management by Alexandre Bleau (Wayne State University/Bonstelle). Hand/flag artwork by Dave Acosta.
